Borno: cholera hits Borno state - UN

The United Nations has made it known that cholera is spreading rapidly through IDP camps sheltering people displaced by Boko Haram in the north-eastern part of Nigeria.

According to the UN, more than 530 suspected cases had been registered in the camp three times the number reported five days earlier and more than 20 people have died.
According to reports, the Nigeria Humanitarian Fund, which is managed by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, allocated $10.5m (£8m) for life-saving assistance to the most vulnerable. Nearly two million people have been displaced by the conflict between Boko Haram militants and government forces.
