According to reports the dismissal came as a result of an audit that was inquired for by the Senate President earlier this year.

It was an attempt by Saraki to reduce the number of aides on his payroll.

The aides to the Senate President that were affected are  the Director of Protocol, Arthur Ndiwe, Head of Administration, Folashade Adigun, and his special adviser Yusuph Olaniyonu.
